About Friends Getting Together

Friends Getting Together is an active social group for people 55 years and over, currently with about 200 members. The club is run entirely by volunteers and has operated in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs for 25 years.

The purpose of Friends Getting Together is to bring singles together to participate in social activities in a friendly environment. The club is not a dating agency, and is committed to keeping member’s details confidential and secure.

We hold about 30 activities per month. They regularly include lunches, dinners, dancing, walking, golf, board games, cinema and outings.

Friends Getting Together Inc. is an incorporated association under the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012, and is managed by a committee comprising a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Secretary, Membership Secretary, Newsletter Editor and several ordinary members. When you are ready, use our Application Form to apply for membership.

Each month we run a "Mingles Night" to make it easy for you to come along and meet us. This will give you the opportunity to see if we are the right club for you. Give John or Joan a ring and they will arrange your attendance. Phone 0412407574 or 98879019. Also, if you see any other function on our newsletter that you may feel you would like to attend on our activities list give us a ring.
